Sharp Knives at CAP ArtSpace

I am so excited to have my first show in Ithaca. My first solo gallery show and my first show as a mom!

Robin Schwartz and Jon Spence of the Community Arts Partnership here in Ithaca have given me this opportunity and I am very grateful. The show is comprised of paintings done over the past five years. Some of them are paintings done at the Art Students League in NYC, some were made in my studio in Bushwick , Brooklyn and others were made here in Ithaca during this first snowy, pregnant winter here (don’t worry, I got rid of my toxic pigments and solvents)

The past five years have been a period of transition- ultimately bringing wonderful changes,  but not without great vulnerability and frequent discomfort! I noticed , as I put the show together that this was a bit of a theme. So, I went with it. The title of the show is Sharp Knives and I see it as a celebration of vulnerability and of sitting down together despite it.
